So in /sci/'s humble opinion how long should it take a person who has been out of school for a few years and never really took anything past algebra two in highschool to get up to calculus. Would I be an idiot if it took me a year?

I wish the importance of education was really drilled into me. They tell you "you will need good grades for a good job", what does that mean to a high school bum? When we're young we live in the moment. And this is specific for me but I would like to see a schooling system where if you want to learn as much as possible, you can. Instead of having to select a narrow group of subjects. Also more of a balance of mind, body and soul. Weight training is and philosophy are a must.
