It just occurred to me that a few very specific ideas have had profound impacts on how I perceive the world. In fact, I can pretty much explain my sense of things with a few axioms. Many of you will, doubtless, find this list very similar to your own, but I ask that we might have a 'share thread' of ideas which have had profound impacts on you; things which have invoked paradigm shifts at the individual level, if you will.

For me:

1. The evolution of the human species and the genetic history of all life on earth.
2. Godel's Incompleteness Theorems
