You’re confusing CO2 records with temperature records and not referring to the right ice core. Paleo temperature proxies like the pic you posted use different methodologies than CO2 measurements which can be done on more recent snow that’s not completely compacted into glacial ice.
That second paper is known to be shoddy, as there’s direct measurements of the spectra of incoming/outgoing radiation and how much is radiating back to the planet from the extra CO2
