Why isn't time metric? Months and years are obviously based on celestial stuff that we can't change, but we could make days 10 hours long, with 100 minutes per hour and 100 seconds per minute.

If we wanted we could get rid of months altogether and just count the days since the new year.

>You could theoretically bring along a large inflatable hab that you can bring out and dock to the ship once you're on the cruise to Mars. And a sepperate ship crusing right next to you could carry all the extra consumables
That sounds like two starships and a space station to me. We're talking about one (1) Starship here, anon

Fuck I hate showing up to a thread after it has already devolved to sub-100 IQers flinging schizo shit at each other.

Here's what happened.
1. Jet crashed into the building, spreading burning jet fuel all across two floors.
2. High temperature from the fire started heating up the metal structure.
3. Metal conducts heat rapidly. Eventually the entire metal framework of the building on all floors started getting hot. This is the critical detail that people miss. Even though the fire was on a few floors, it heated up the entire metal structure on all floors.
4. Heat makes metal soft.
5. Eventually one of the floors softened to the point of buckling. Since the entire structure was butter soft by that point, the shock from the first buckled floor cascaded down the whole building.

EU should drop the Galileo program entirely. It's a huge money sink and completely identical to the already existing GPS, but they want to keep it because muh self sustainability. Now they have a GPS clone to not be dependent on USA on satellite navigation, but they can't even launch the satellites without US. Makes no sense

You know, I can kind of see this kind of thing, as well as most if not all of nLab, if you treat it as a What-If exercise, where you suspend disbelief and just push the idea through to its logical conclusion for your own amusement. Like experimental music or whatever, where nobody is SERIOUSLY expected to listen to it, especially given the existing record of totally unlistenable experimental music by other people. It’s fun to make and hey, you might learn something more practical along the way. What worries me is that maybe these guys aren’t looking at it that way at all
