In a mice experiment, mice genetically designed to develop Alzheimer's who were feed olive oil had significantly reduced plaques and neurofibular tangles than those who didn't. This also translated over to them performing better on behavioral tests involving running mazes and learning to associate stimuli. It seems the olive oil did this by inducing greater lysosomal activity.
