maths are rationalism and truth, other than getting your questions answered by God, the next pinnacle to give you UNIVERSAL TRUTH is Maths.

Are PhD students just complainers because they lack perspective on working professionally?

Is doing a fully funded PhD really as bad as working? You get to work on interesting research, have a flexible schedule, and avoid being stuck in an office for 9+ hours a day.

I want to get a PhD so I can get more technical and research oriented jobs.

Engineering at the bachelors level isn't that technical.

>go to college
>have to take certain number of classes per semester to graduate on time, but also have to work because i come from a poor family so i have to support myself
>have to maintain a certain gpa to keep my scholarships
>begin abusing stimulants to maintain energy to study, go to class, and work
>drinking 5 energy drinks a day and taking 20mg adderall a day
>become more poor because of stimulant habit, but can't stop because i need to be productive for at least 9 hours a day and i stay on campus and everyone is very loud late into the night so i rarely get more than 5-6 hours of sleep a night
>become overwhelmed and feel helpless and lose motivation to study
>get behind
>to catch up start learning superficial concepts and stress learning how to solve the problems that will be on the test instead of understanding the material
>retain less information because of superficial understanding and cramming
>start doing mediocre on the tests despite having straight A's on exams during the first half of the semester
>afraid to drop out because of stigma attached to college dropouts
>have general education requirements like social sciences, but the classes that interest me that would fulfill these requirements are scheduled at the same time as other classes that im required to take, so i settle for sociology 100 and learn about how everyone but my demographic is a victim and that i am an oppressor and privileged
>tell myself i dont want friends or a gf because im focusing on school but i fucking hate school

boy nothing takes the enjoyment and fulfillment from learning quiet like the high stakes, high paced, and financially stressful environment of college. i wish there was a school shooter situation and he'd shoot me in the mouth so no one would realize how much of a lazy retarded loser i am before i die
