Why is sci so smart?

I derived a different equation for the sample mean, which can be used to estimate the mean of a distribution. Unfortunately, im not sure how to derive the variance computationally.

The equation:
<div class="math">Q_T = Q_t \prod_{k=0}^{T}(1-\alpha_{t+k}) + \sum_{k=0}^{T} \bigl( X_{t+k} \alpha_{t+k} \prod_{l=k+1}^{T} (1-\alpha_{t+l}) \bigr) \enspace ,</div>
where <span class="math">X_{t}, X_{t+1}, \hdots
are i.i.d. samples from some distribution, <span class="math">Q_t
is an original estimate (e.g. initial estimate), <span class="math">Q_T
is a final estimate after T-t samples, and <span class="math">\alpha_{t},\alpha{t+1}, \hdots
are update rates used to weigh off samples and <span class="math">\alpha_{i+1}
is dependent on <span class="math">\alpha_i
.

The bias is easily derived (bias of QT with true parameter is just the sum of individual biases of each sample and original estimate), but the variance I cant figure out due to upate rates being dependent.

I think its a long shot, but anyone?

So I'm watching Dark Matters, and they say Tesla's Wardenclyffe tower might have caused the Tuskunga Event. Thoughts?

that feel when stupid people in my class use lecture times to draw childish repeating patterns, numbers or forms in their notebooks thinking they are super special autistic and better than everyone else who actually listens and learns
also whenever they hear music they tap with their fingers or legs thinking they are super good rythm followers when they actually miss alot of the key beats and when it becomes obvious they stop in shame. what is more, whenever they actually understand something, they start asking batshit stupid questions about the learned topic which we have long passed so that everyone knows they understood it ´´teacher is it correct that....´´
fucking subhumans kill them all

Does sci know how many numbers can be encoded in IEEE754 ?

Because you guys are the rational minded altruists Ive come to know and love I decided to post this here.

How do I go from having almost no social skills to being very social? I currently have a few 'friends' I occasionally talk to them but hardly ever do thing with. The kicker: I find it impossible to determine how well I am friends with someone. This means I cant decide if I should ask them to hang out, to ask them for their # (as bros), or to do anything else. This is driving me insane.

>inb4 not science
Psychology is pretty close

Ok guys its been 30 years. Lets discuss our answers for the 1981 ap bio multiple choice. I dont think the college board cares that much. I put C for number 1...

What is pKa? Every explanation I've found just goes into equations and very technical language. Can someone explain it in layman's terms?
