Suppose an emitter sends out a photon of ionizing energy to an observer (a hydrogen atom) at rest relative to the emitter. In all frames of reference we see an ejected photo-electron.

Now suppose another emitter sends out a photon of ionizing energy to an observer (another hydrogen atom) moving away from the source at relativistic speeds. The photon is redshifted and there is now not sufficient energy to eject a photo-electron.

Where did the energy go? The photon travels at c in all reference frames.

ive got a physics AS paper tomorrow. what do you think will come up?

Guys. I'm going for a cataract surgery this morning at 10 o'clock.

1. What should I wear? Do I have to strip and wear one of those hospital robes?
2. Should I shave my body? Is it safe to NAIR my nipples, butthole and crotch?
3. Are they going to knock me out with anesthetics? What if they don't?
4. What if I get a boner during surgery? How do I prevent this? Should I fap before surgery?

okay, so I'm in charge of my next mental-class and I'm supposed to do a presentation about stress. I've got most of it thought out, but for it to work I need to get the other students in the class stressed out. any suggestions on how to do that?

I would of posted this on /adv/ but I figured this would be a better place to come.

I am in my final year of my degree and I did a piece of coursework around December time which my lecturer was pretty happy with and offered to send it off for publication in a journal/conference. I was cool with this as it something good to put on my CV, the work I had done was nothing special and nor was it a subject I was that enthusiastic about. I just got lucky.

Now I get an email from my lecturer saying it has been accepted for a conference in Athens but the actual publication would be as a book chapter, further information to follow. The conference acceptance form is attached to the email and talks about a 15 minute oral presentation at the conference. It goes on to request confirmation of your attendance by the 7th of March.

I am shitting a brick here, do they expect me to go? I would really have no idea what I would be doing, I don't know the subject well at all. The date of 7th March is obviously gone but still they could of confirmed it on my behalf. Am I just being stupid thinking I am meant to go? Help!
