oh, by the way OP, i figure that if working is required, you cannot just wolfram-alpha/cheat to find the minimum, it needs working out with calculus.

oh good.
apart from pythagoras, i just used angles in a triangle must add up to 180 degrees...and the SIN rule...which i think you know.
(in same triangle SINA/a = SINB/b = SINC/c ... where each letter is an angle and its corresponding opposite side)

..keep in mind that this is really simple in right angled triangles because SIN(90) = 1...so you can just ignore it completely (like i did in the last step)
