But the topic is totally irrelevant to my life and my studies as I was forced to take English for English majors because the technical writing course was filled this semester.

/sci/, I have a calc 2 test in a week on series.

I have not a clue how to do 90% of the power series. This stuff just makes no sense to me, I've read the test and it still confuses me to hell.

Is there any easy hints at doing this stuff?

/sci/, is college really worth it?

Over the last few months I've been talking to quite a few non-college students who seem to love their lives. Some of them sit in on classes at the local universities that they love and wish to learn more about and do what they love as a hobby on the side at their own pace.

They all seem to work nice easy going jobs and despite not having a lot of money they really seem to enjoy themselves.

The janitor in my dorm for instance never went to college and instead worked what one would consider a shitty life and over the last 30 years he has been a janitor for the dorms around the one campus. Despite what many would think as a shitty job he tells me he loves it because it's simple and doesn't bog him down with unwanted bullshit. He told me that over the years he would go and sit in on math and science courses that he found to be interesting and loved it because it taught him what he wanted to know without all the other bullshit that comes with being a college student. As a side job he also like to tutor kids in some of the physics courses we have and advanced math courses because he loves teaching others and in general loves to work with the material.

He really made me think about what I was doing which was really boring and not fun at all and I really wonder if i made the wrong choice in life.

Calculate the quadratic Taylor Polynom (x0=0) and the remainder using Lagrange's form

f(x) = 1 / (x²+2) f(0) = 0.5
f'(x) = (-2x) / (x²+2)^2 f'(0) = 0
f''(x) = (6x²-4) / (x²+2)^3 f''(0) = -0.5

T2(x) = 0.5+ (0 / 1!)x - (0.5 / 2!) x² = 0.5-0.25x²

How does one proceed to calculate the remainder in the interval [-1, 1]

f'''(x) = (48x - 24x³) / (x²+2)^4

R2(x) should be (f'''(x~) / 3!) * x³
