Let me start off by saying that I really appreciate this thread, Mad Scientist.It is very reminiscent of something you'd see on /tg/. If you want your scenario to be played out in a more serious or thoughtful manner, I would suggest coming up with some stock of what we have to work with in a costco. Personally, when I imagine a costco, my head is just sort of filled with images of roof-high shelves covered in ambiguous "stuff".
So lets say
there are 50 of us in this costco. For starters, we should gather all non-perishable foods and ration it in calorie based portions and put it aside for when we run out of perishables. It seems like it would be easy to make personal dwellings by clearing areas of the shelves and sectioning them off. We would also have lots of grilling equipment and coal at our disposal for controlled applications of heat.
