Have never had to wait in an emergency room for more than an hour, and it has only been that long because broken bones aren't immediately life threatening. I've got scheduled check-ups twice a year for a condition I was born with, and I can go to any walk in clinic I want whenever I want.

The experiences differ greatly from asphyxiation in the sense the brain shows 0 activity on monitors. Where as asphyxiation experiences always have some level of brain activity. The same for any form of drug. NDE's often have great clarity and would not be expected from a brain with no activity(brain dead). Where as drug experiences have increased activity in the brain in certain areas in the case of hallucinogenics.

The assumption that existence is limited to this universe is beyond science and would be based on faith alone. Where as the observation and consideration of the effect NDE's have and their continual similarities with each other requires no faith. Only observation of the obvious. Maybe its the human condition of death or something more. Derive what you will of it. If this makes you uncomfortable, maybe you should figure out why it does.
