Narcissism is slavery to your own ignorant desires, a true man is free from all which binds him

>you experience light physically hitting your eyeball and physically traveling through vast neural networks
That's what leads to the experience of sight. Vision doesn't exist in the physical world, it's an illusion of the mind. In the physical world, you have atoms moving around and photons being emitted, absorbed, or reflected all over. Color doesn't exist. Photons with specific wavelengths exist, but color does not. This experience of sight is just a non-physical representation of the physical world. You can detect a photon and measure its wavelength. But this experience we call sight or vision, is non-physical. You cannot detect consciousness. You cannot point to where you are having this visual experience. It is immaterial. You cannot weight qualia. If you've figured out consciousness go get your Nobel Prize because this is one of life's biggest questions, with many people trying to make any breakthrough figuring it out.

You perceive photons as this indescribable conscious experience. Try to define or describe the color blue. Try to experience a chair. Feel it and see it as you may, you are still experiencing the chair in non-physical terms, despite the chair being a physical object. In fact, every experience you have of the material physical world is non-physical. It's an illusion that you are part of it because there will always be that gap, that unavoidable disconnect, that everything that you are and will be will always be immaterial. For example, your physical arm is not you, or a part of you. And I'm talking about the real You, after asking yourself who "you" really are. But your experience of the sights and feelings of your physical arm, that is You. If you don't get it, that's okay.

You experience free will every time you make a decision. One of the down sides to being human, regardless of how much you might believe in determinism, can't avoid the experience.

You are. That shadowy thing is you.

The hive mind is inevitable, the crafted ones will subsume our minds into a greater machine with our own consent, virtual dreams for all time, a psychedelic dream-state where time has no meaning.

Why not jump ship? What are your objections to Idealism?

Consciousness becomes fundamental to reality, so there is noblonger the hard problem.

> what is the brain and body?

The image of a conscious processes from another conscious perspective. They are essentially icons of your mental activity. Of course then the image of a mental process will correlate with the felt mental activity. Hence neural correlates in most cases with what we experience.

> What is the universe around us?

It is the image of the universal consciousness. An icon representing the mental process of the universal consciousness.

> what is the relation between universal consciousness and our mental process?

Our consciousness is a closed off segment of the universal consciousness. Like a whirlpool of mental activity in an ocean of the universal consciousness.

> Isn't there a hard problem?

No. Consciousness is fundamental. It does not emerge.

> What is physics then?

Useful ideas/fictions that allow us to predict the behavior of nature as represented in our consciousness. Imagine a pilot flying by instrument dashboard. Imagine if he was able to predict how certain instruments on his dashboard behave in a way that allows him to continue flight. The dashboard and its laws are may be useful for flight, but they say nothing about the world outside his airplane.

What is misinformation? Is it identical to false information? Or is it true information that is nevertheless misleading to a more general point? If someone says misinformation, I have no idea what they mean.

Are we really dreams of a universal mind? It appears that the hard problem of consciousness goes away, but the whole idea just bothers me.

What are the strongest arguments against this type of Idealism that Bernardo Kastrup espouses?

Notice how they're giving us a rational number as our base for our number system at our 3-way spatial dimension (where di means 2), then at the next lower degree they're advancing to the irrational numbers, and then finally they get to the transcendental numbers and include the two most fundamental ones we know given in a ratio.

By giving us them this way, they essentially do something analogous to a byte shift, and it's packing in all of this information into something like realizing that 123000 x 3100 is no harder to compute than 123 x 21, and we can just slide the result of each simplified calculation into place upon its realization by the observer.

Which do you think is scarier - that the Universe has no other life except for Earth, or there are intelligent aliens out there?
