i.e. Q is true, and P implies Q. You don't know if P is true. Now imagine the third line in the table were FTF instead of FTT. Then you would know that P was true, since only the first line in the table would end in TT. But that's not how an implication should work. Knowing Q shouldn't tell you about P.

Similarly, imagine you're told

You now know that P is not true, since if P were true you should have Q being true from the implication. If the last line in the table were changed to FFF, you wouldn't know this, because you have two lines ending in FF.
