Science is a branch of philosophy, "science" was originally simply called natural philosophy and all "scientists" were called physicians. Modern science is an application of materialism, rationalism, and empiricism. This is not to be confused with the Philosophy of Science, which just observes science "in the wild" and takes notes. That's not say it hasn't had some influence on science over the years (Karl Popper), just that it's not the source. Philosophy claims there are many ways to gain knowledge, of which science is simply one of them, but most would agree it is also the most rigorous - hence the popularity.

The one strange kid in the corner no one wants to talk to is Sociology of Science, which tends to work in reverse - it takes the knowledge of science and then forms philosophies and social theories around that knowledge. The result of this after being hijacked by postmodernists and extreme feminists is that "Newton's three laws are actually a guide for rape" and other such treasures. The few good published essays are severely trumped by the horrendous ones.

1) Newton was an asshole and a troll
2) Einstein was sweeter than a puppy, unless you were his ex-wife the public addored him for it. Einstein would not have been Einstein to the public if he had the personality of, say, Bohr.
3) Time difference, obviously, we're still in the age of Einstein's discoveries, so there's a natural bias
4) Einstein's ideas
5) Newton's ideas simply "are" - it's math, you either understand them or you don't. Einstein's ideas leave some wiggle room for pop-sci and other such nonsense and garbage. Example: medical quacks telling people quantum mechanics is a basis for New Age spiritual cures, or philosophers taking the theory relativity (what is in reality actually the theory of invariance) and using it to promote relativism, etc. Same logic as to why people find whacky Frued psychology more useful than actual modern experimental psychology.

I'm a Newton guy myself. Motherfucker invents the calculus at 23 just to prove he's right to other motherfuckers who think he's making shit up. Bitches got tolder than when told went to told town.

biology (a bit of physics incl) question here.

if a person A has smaller nostrils than person B, implying they have identical biological features otherwise and breathe in equal pace and volume then does person A sense odour more than person B?
because smaller nostrils means that to let the same amount of air through, the air has to move faster and thus applies more pressure to the walls of the nostrils thus leading to more collisions with odours sensors?

sorry that I couldn't explain myself well, I suck at scientific English.
picture unrelated.
