just in case

also now i'd say F is not double H, bvt double G (after all it is named digamma, which means double gamma)

/sci/, I need assistance. My days in middle class are numbered, and I have a family to feed, so college might not be an option anymore at this moment. I love math and science more than anything, the feelings I get when I try to understand things using them as a basis are inexplainable.

(No, none of these are my children, mother and kin)

I will offer anyone who can prove to me they have a deeper understanding in math and physics, and who is willing to stay open minded while teaching me, $5.00 USD through paypal for each time they feed me information and answer my questions in a serious manner.

This wasn't well put together because I'm not feeling all too well, but I love math and science so much. I want to understand.

Evening chaps.
Would one of you fine, upstanding and infinitely smart gentlemen help me understand the concept of using level surfaces to find unit normals to scalar fields in vector calculus?

I know we have the scalar field φ=constant or 0 in my case to simplify it.
We use grad(φ) and plug in our point <x,y,z>, then normalise it to find the unit normal vector. Here comes my question, how the fuck does knowing φ=0 help me?

So /sci/,

If m and n represent the roots of 2x^2 - 4x - 3=0 what is the value of:

(m+n)^2

Can you explain to me how you got the answer?

The estimates for a runaway greenhouse effect on mars are between 200 and 600mbar.
I.e. a 5th or half of what pressure we have now.
Ok for growing plants in though

Hello /sci/ I need some help. Currently I'm supposed ot figure out the copper cycle. The chemicals I'm allowed to use were HCL, HNO3, NaOH, and H2SO4.

Here's what I've gotten so far:

1. Cu + 2HNO3 -> Cu(NO3)2 + H2
the H2 does not form in the solution so it only produces Cu(NO3)2..
2. Cu(NO3)2 + 2NaOH -> Cu(OH)2 + NaNO3
all of this is soluble except Cu(OH)2.. so that is the only product.
3. Cu(OH)2 +H2So4 -> CuSO4+ 2H20
I'd assume you would heat the solution and the water would depart..
4. CuSo4 + ? -> Cu

I'm stuck on the final one. I considered HCL but it wouldnt isolate the copper. Am I doing something wrong for this? Any help would be appreciated. Thx
