Red Foxes are the most widespread carnivore and have over 40 recognized subspecies.

The Saimese's coloration is due to an enzyme that is <span class="math">supposed[/spoiler] to deposit pigment in the hair EVERYWHERE, but shuts down in warmer areas of the body (hence, colder areas, like the nose, ears, and paws, are darker).

Birds have unidirectional airflow through their lungs (as opposed to our tidal airflow).

FOXP2 is unusually diverse in echolocating bats (i.e. FOXP2 is an transcription factor that appears to be one of the keys to OUR developing language).

Eye shine is caused by a structure called the tapetum lucidum (I could talk about this for a while, but I won't because I'm tired [It was a good chunk of a 10 page paper for me]).
