Redpill me on the object oriented programming. Is it worth it? Is it hard or rather easy?

I am doing it at the moment on my CS classes but I'm not paying attention and know jack shit about it. (We're doing it in Java btw)

Could you recommend to me any resources I can use to grasp it entirely? Are there any things I need to keep in mind when working with the OOP? Any tips and tricks?
