If you really care about minimizing human suffering you would simply understand what is causing the the ills of most people and fix that. Small acts of kindness and doing research aren't going to do anything transformative. The majority of people are dissatisfied and a sizeable minority are disillusioned with modern life. Leftists tend to hate anything that has an image of being strong, good and successful. They hate America, they hate Western civilization, they hate white males, they hate rationality. The reasons that leftists give for hating the West, etc. clearly do not correspond with their real motives. The theory we've outlined here provides a plausible explanation for the so-called Fermi Paradox.
