OK, sure. Stewart isn't a bad writer. Evidently lots of professors love to use his book either because A) University kickback from the publisher or B) it is self-contained and lets professors get away with teaching less. Most people in Calculus 1 (in North American Universities this is derivative calculus) don't go to Calculus 2 (Integral Calculus, Infinite Series), and most that finish Calculus 2 don't go into mathematics.

However, if you have any self respect as someone who is "good" at math then consider understanding the foundations of Calculus, not Liebnitz's & Newton's hand wavy infinitesimal calculus, but a calculus that was borne out of theorems from well-defined proofs in analysis. Sure, you won't build a bridge any better but it will teach you how to attack problems you hadn't even considered to exist.
