You guys should read the paper before you masturbate over the media's interpretation of it.

Here is what they did: (I am not the media)
They modified a mouse's telomerase to only function in the presence of a drug
They grew the mouse without the drug
Mouse was old and shitty
Give the mouse the drug and it becomes not old and shitty.

Unfortunately, they have neither a means of improving wild type telomerase nor a cure for aging. This is a possible directed treatment approach for Werner's syndrome, which isn't something to shake a stick at by any means, but it's not biological immortality.

All this paper tells us is, telomere shortening is one path to aging. Telomerase will restore telomere length, but only to a point. It will lengthen telomeres only so much and then it's made inactive (except in ye olde cancer).

Furthermore, senility is independant of biological age, as patients with Werner syndrome experience very rapid aging but rarely become senile. Your extra years will be full of failure.
