pic rel is an formula 1 engine and has about 1000 hp. Considering that f1 races last hours for a shorter run even more hp could be squeezed out of an engine of this size. Piston engine have higher hp/weight ration than electric engines (but worse than turbines) especially when you factor in the battery weight.
