Hey /sci/, how do you feel about this article regarding Maths in the education system?

http://www.maa.org/devlin/LockhartsLament.pdf

As someone who feels they want to enjoy maths but loathed the lessons, it seems to explain how I feel about maths perfectly. I'm starting an A-level Maths course soon. Is there any hope for me?

Hello /sci/
I'm going to start university next year for physics, yet I really like programming and astronomy too.
So I'd like ideas for physics or astronomy programs that I could write (I use Python and Java but I'd like learning other languages)

So help with ideas?
