I meant this part. If you want context, here's how I read your post earlier with brackets being me filling things in.

To be fair, oftentimes those with low standards/opinions of themselves would also have lower standards for their future partner. It mainly deals with self-worth and the like, if you're an eastern Asian then it'd explain a lot of things too kek, but you're probably not.

Same. But I've gotten better at it. It's one of those 'out of comfort zone' things for people who had never actually thought about seriously pursuing someone do when they even have to remotely consider it seriously. "Y-yeah, it'd be nice to have a companion. Huh? What do you mean I can just go and try to find one? Ehhh, I'll leave that for the future once I'm done with 'college/university/grad/finding a job/etc'"

Can't really 'ditch' a way of thinking entirely, it's moreso 'updating' like you said, or even being more 'flexible' with it. You ever visit /sqt/ here?
