You are describing special relativity numb-nuts. In special relativity, you can make your time go slower. And you and your space ship will be protected.

This actually happens in our space all the time. It has been confirmed by astronaught, satillites, and space telecopes. There should be some refererence in the wiki article.

However the speed of light you measure in the space ship, will still be the same to you. You will never measure a new speed of light in your machine, no matter how much slower you get your time to go.
