Hey /sci/. I'm meeting with a big wig in the Physics department of my uni about research assistant opportunities. I'm pretty new to this academia world and would appreciate any pointers. We are meeting at his office and hes going to give me a tour of one of the research group's labs.
What sort of questions should I ask? What shouldnt I ask? Should I treat this like an interview?

Is math just yet another language?

I have always been retardedly bad at math and I have never ever tried to get good at it, but know I have to do "high level" high school - equivalent math (not sure how to compare it) to progress in my current job and I'm scared as fuck

alright /sci/, heres a little challenge. I suck at trigonometry and need a little help.

Prove the identity: (sin^4(x) - cos^4(x)) / (sin^2(x)cos^2(x) = sec^2(x) - csc^2(x)

If this is too easy I have more!

Design an algorithm for a program that converts Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit. The program
in Scilab should generate a table showing centigrade ranging from 1-50, 5 by 5 degrees, and
the corresponding values in Farenheit.

x = 0.99(9)
10x = 9.99(9)

10x-x = 9.99(9) - 0.99(9)
9x = 9
x = 1
0.99(9) = 1
Can't work because

9x = 9(0.99(9)) != 9

You spit in the face of someone who's trying to intelligently argue for something that would clearly benefit mankind in the long run in favor of spitting on an entire demographic of people. THERE ARE STUPID, SHITTY, LOWER CLASS SCUMBAGS OF ALL RACES. The stupidest person I ever met was a white redneck named Kenny. I laid carpet with him for a while. I found technology for him that would save his knees from having to use an old fashioned "kicker" carpet stretcher. All he had to do was invest one of his paychecks in it instead of booze. Like the typical luddite he was, he said to me "I don't fuck with nunna dat technology shit."

You don't have a monopoly on intelligence and civilization because of your pigmentation, you dickhead.

Im currently awaiting a surgical operation on my leg...again. Faciotomy is what i recieved before, now i need to get it iirigate and debrieded.

Just because i have an infection doesnt mean im going to lose my leg, right? Im going under in 2 hours. I trust my doctor, but hes trained to see the worst case scenarios. i just dont know if i should be as worried as him.

so nervous. is there a doctor, or biologist in the house?
