You should clarify what you mean by "believe" in gravtity. If you define gravity as the observed property of matter described above, then that's "true" forever.
If by gravity you mean the current best theory of humans between 2000-2050, i.e. some specific model, then you don't have to believe it. You can take the standpoint that 100 years later there will be a "more correct" theory around. And even if some theory which involves gravitons work, i.e. describes what our experiments measure, then this is no statement about reality in the strict sense. People have "proven" electrons to exists and they mean point particles. If string theory turns out to be right, then there are just strings and no point particles. My point is: don't confuse a model with reality. We might never access reality.

in the third line he multiplies the equations by two different things on each side. Namely by 1/(1+2) on the left side and (1+2) on the right side.

But I like it.
+1 internets for you OP

Hi /sci/!

This might sound like a made up question but it's not:

Can you be "turned off" by something?
I mean you can obviously sexually be "turned on", and you can be neutral, and you can have an erection and then walk along or check your emails or whatever and it goes away, that's certain.
There is this frase "That turnes me off", but can you actually actively be turned off? I mean like a faster way to loose it, then just not thinking about it.
I mean lets say I have a hard on and I see a pic of a 85yo naked granny. It's kind of gross and it's not stimulating but I don't think it's more of a "turn off" than just stand up and make myself a sandwitch. It's not actively bringing me down, or is it?

except for your answer is bullshit. I'm sorry for your experiences but physicists are usually rather quiet sci-fi or math loving freaks - at least compared to non-natural science majors.
