ITT: Lab rat and mice appreciation thread

Let's have a commemorative thread paying our respects to all the brave, noble rats and mice that has come before us who sacrificed life, limbs and health in order to advance the human race.

Thank you. For all you've done.

Hi sci,

I will be conducting research using the Norway Rat. My research will be examining the genes and/or brains of offspring to examine developmental effects.

Something that came to my attention was that offspring are usually kept with mothers, and not the fathers. I wanted to ask you guys what are some paternal behaviors, and in what ways are the fathers involved in development. I'm searching now for this information, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask you guys too and maybe save me some time.
