But it didn't seem fitting, and it did bring up an interesting question. I am not sure those things are, in themselves, bad, but the economic system from which they came is by no means innocent or ethical.

This is no doubt some truth to this, but I'm not sure it is possible to compare the relative happiness of humans from vastly different generations. For example, Native Americans have neither of those things, yet who are we to assume that they are less happy than us because of it? Who is to say they are not happier, overall? Again, there is no way to know.

I have no idea what we need. I don't think anyone does or ever will.

Can it compare to music, literature and art???
