What if neurosurgeons switched the inputs to your pleasure and pain centers? Would you just start punching yourself in the balls, or what? But since the brain is wired so that the expectation of pleasure is itself pleasurable, wouldn't the expectation of pleasure now cause pain? So would you just stand around punching yourself in the balls, screaming simultaneously in ecstasy and terror?

But OP is right. Although he doesn't live a life of Veyron driving luxury(2 bedroom house, garage, 2 "sports cars," new truck, hunting property across the state), he did pretty well for himself off a couple million, and currently lives off interest/retiree checks.

I always told my friends that all I want is a track car, reliable daily driver, moderate house, and enough for my kids to go to college, and I'll be set. Hope to take a pay-cut after a few years working in the field, and going on to do research to benefit man. But who knows, maybe I'll get greedy along the way

Why aren't amphetamines prescribed for depression? You can't say they don't work. They almost work too well. But all drugs have side effects, and in my experience the benefits outweigh the risks -- unlike with traditional "antidepressants" which do nothing but wilt your boner, make you fat and make Pfizer rich. What gives? Conspiracy? I'm thinking conspiracy.
