I have a question about dimensions. A lot of physicists and stuff insist that there are multiple dimensions. I hear people talk about parallel universes, 10+ dimensions, the multiverse, etc. Well my question is this.

What makes physicists think there are more dimensions? The multiverse theory can't be proven to be right, it's only speculation that there are multiple universes each with their own laws of physics. We have only ever observed 3D right? Isn't is possible that this is the max?

sic/ i need some halp, i need to determine the fourier series coefficients for
x(t) = 3 - 6*sin^2(3*pi*t) + 4*cos^2(4*pi*t)
thank you in advance

Now that the Kepler spacecraft has found a few Earth-like planets in the habitability zones, in addition to gas giants which could have dozens of habitable moons the size of Earth.

As well as almost every single star having planetoids: http://www.tgdaily.com/space-features/60744-almost-all-milky-way-stars-have-planets

It's pretty safe to assume based on logically deriving the information available to us that life and intelligent life is extremely common in the universe.

I mean, it's a fact currently that EVERY single terrestrial planet with large flowing liquid H2O oceans will eventually evolve life and intelligent life after time.

Radio signals degrade after only a mere 5 LY and turn into the unreadable background noise of space, no wonder the sky is "silent".

The question is, how common is it? I'm sure basic life (Microbial) is extremely common, there might even be some on Europa and such, but Intelligent life is most likely more finicky.

Maybe this can be considered science...
