>finished undergrad in 2019
>decided to work for two years so I could afford to move for grad school
>work shitty IT jobs
>start brushing up on undergrad topics for subject GRE
>start preparing my CV
>start writing a personal statement
>fall 2020 rolls around
>rumors that 2021 application cycle will be competitive as fuck
>subject GRE gets cancelled
>suddenly (very) worried that I will get rejected from every school I apply to
>can't bring myself to study/do fun problems for the last week
Has anybody else been here? What should I do bros?

>Brainstorming research topics in remote sensing and geology
>Come up with a cool idea
>Look into it on google scholar
>Topic has been explored extensively, there are tons of interesting and relevant titles
>All of them are from open access journals, or scientific journals from Pakistan, India, etc.
>Have an overwhelming gut-feeling that the topic is unimportant and the results are untrustworthy because it has not been explored by American researchers.
Is there something wrong with me?

>end of semester
>give professor a detailed suggestion for a research project, ask if he would be willing to PI
>apply for undergraduate research fellowship, complete proposal in one day, submit to professor, he sends it off the same day
>initial proposal is done two weeks in advance of deadline
>selected as finalist, asked to send a more detailed proposal
>finish it same day, submit it two weeks in advance of deadline
>get email two days after deadline stating that I forgot to submit proof of citizenship
>feel like a fucking dunce
I'll still get the grant, but it kills me to see such a dumb mistake in my hot streak.

I know a guy who:
>spent 2 years at a community college to complete his generals
>spent 5 years finishing most of a geography degree
>spent 2 years on a biology minor since he had to wait for the geography classes he failed to be offered again
>will spend at least another year since he failed the only class he needed to graduate last semester.
Almost ten years and he still doesn't have all the pieces for a B.Sc. in geography. You can petition the dean at my college to get a B.A. or B.Sc. in general studies.I wish he would just get the damn B.A. since the requirements for a B.Sc. (two semesters calculus, two semesters chemistry, two semesters physics) have kept him in school for a long time.

I feel like a dunce for finishing my B.Sc. in five years sometimes, at least I got two majors out of it though.
