once you have grasped the main concepts behind circuit design (ohms law, RLC, semiconductors) you have the tools to do a ton of upper level stuff.

As far as analog circuits are concerned most other stuff taught in circuits is just clever ways that people have come up with to take advantage of the properties of the base circuit components.

I feel like trigonometry in high school should really emphasize that sin/cos are very important if you decide to do anything with math in your future. I slacked in my sophomore year of high school and as a result struggled with trig when I actually was expected to know a bunch of identities and whatnot in college.

Diff eq is really just an extension of diff/integral calculus, not much else is expanded on besides clever tricks people have come up with
