If 1=0.999999.., then shouldn't 0.99999... have an equal but infinitely smaller pair too? And if so, wouldn't that prove 1=0?

I can't stand Neil Degrasse Tyson.
The fucker is everywhere and basically presents himself as the fucking ambassador of science, without doing any actual science. Science doesn't need someone to talk about how awesome it is. It's not politics. You either discover/invent something, or you don't.
It's not like there's rejection of science on political/cultural basis so that we would need someone to preach about science being awesome.
