Why is everyone so doom and gloom? The flight did very well considering it’s a brand new rocket. Also, a lot of people have what went wrong incorrect.

3 engines were not used on initial ascent on purpose. Some more engines failed on initial ascent, giving Starship a very slow climb with a TWR of 1.2 or even less

At T+30ish seconds, the Hydraulic Power Unit failed. This was the real nail in the coffin of the vehicle. Starship made it to T+2 minutes when the gimbal Ed engines could no longer control the orientation of the full stack due to their lack of hydralics, so the vehicle flipped over.

STAGE SEPARATION WAS NOT THE ISSUE! Starship was only at like 30 kilometers and 2000 km/h when it flipped around. Falcon 9 MECO is at 70 kilometers and 5000 km/h.

Starship COULD HAVE made it to MECO if the hydraulic power unit was still intact. The engine failures, while not good, still allowed for a successful ascent.

I WILL REITERATE! STAGE SEP WAS NOT THE ISSUE! The booster lost hydraulic power early on in the flight and miraculously was able to climb to T+2 minutes
