>was a smart cookie as a youngster
>went to university and hated my subject
>didn't enjoy it at all
>was a loser with no friends and extremely depressed
>got through it and got my degree but with the bare minimum work
>realised I dun goofed by not going to an elite university
>realised I dun goofed by not doing math or physics
>now work in a respectable white collar job but it's brainless

Apart from programming, what other productive areas are there for someone who wants to do smart people stuff like applied math, without having a job in the areas?

I feel so sad that I have never been in a high pressure environment. I think my awful university experience made me in to a lazy person.

I feel so sad that my degree was so boring. I did a chemistry degree. Doing a degree at a non-elite university was so demotivating because the courses were much easier than comparable courses at better universities, so what was the point? And as a non-math major, I knew it would not lead to anything profound. I was in the middle of my degree when AlphaGo beat Lee Sedol and I felt so sad knowing that I'd never contribute to something like that.

Why don't you negotiate with the company to pay you an incentive every year for using your property for passage.

Also, before you go to jail for destroying a communications cable, look up where the ROW (right of way) starts and your property ends.

a lot of dumb property owners don't realize their property is part of the ROW.

also I'm the same guy who posted this.

We reached the end of Moore's law. Transistor density at or near capacity, and the limits of power/voltage on CPUs means we can't clock them any faster but have to resort to multi-cores, which are far less efficient.

So hardware is at a gridlock now. The past few years has seen the ball in software's court, and they do a shite job. Much of the attention is on mobile apps, which are obviously going to be a bunch of consoomer shit, and the rest is enterprise and business software. We are in fact going to be stuck at a plateau as long as hardware is stuck.

There is no money geology unless you have PhD. Otherwise you are doing something that is completely different than geology as a technician.

I've been in the business for several years now. No one does just "geology" in the way you learn it in schools. Because those jobs are almost nonexistent.

Get a geo engineering degree instead.
