sup /sci/
anybody here a Chem E? I'm majoring in Chemical Engineering and I want to know what the jpb market is like. Where do you work? How much starting? Degree levels? etc etc etc.

additional question, do Chem Es ever work with composite materials? thanks.

/sci/ what level of chemistry knowledge would you need to have to be able to understand the synthesis of common drugs like LSD, ecstasy, or even the uncommon ones like the research chemicals

I would assume a solid foundation in organic chemistry, but what does that translate to in the typical college system?

Hello everyone, may I be granted a short amount of your time to help me out, /sci/?
For school, I need to name 3 pupil experiments I want to do in class. Problem is, I have rather minimal knowledge of chemics (dunno why they even put me in this class) so I thought maybe YOU know some basic, simple and non-dangerous but awesome experiments.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys can you balance this chemical reaction?

MnO₄ ⁻ + Fe ₂ + H⁺ → Fe ₃ + Mn ²⁺ + 4H₂O

What's the difficulty of math needed for chemical engineers? Compared to EE and MechE, that is, what level of math is required (both in courses and on the job) for ChemE? I'm not sure if the amount of math ChemE uses will match my love for math.

Also, chem or biochem? Does it really matter which one my resume says if I were going for a job in, say, petroleum refining?

I mixed about 3 tablespoons of bleach with 3 tablespoons of ammonia and left it in a cup in my apartment, because my aparentment smelled like shit, so I though the chlorine gas that formed would make it nice and clean and disinfect the carpet, but I just found out that mixing bleach and ammonia also makes hydrazine.

So how much hydrazine do you think was formed when I mixed them?

k I need chem help, either the teacher's answer is written wrong, or i'm way off.
What is the molecular formula for a compound that contains 37.5% Carbon, 58.3% Oxygen, 4.20% Hydrogen. The molar mass of the compound is 192g.
