Is a math degree worth it /sci/? I thought I wanted to be a physics major but I keep finding myself more invested in my math class rather than Physics. There are decent jobs in it right? Teaching jobs don't count.

Aight so i have this question about thermodynamics.
Im gonna shoot for it anons.

So we know now that the universe is expanding, and as space time gets strechted out so does any light wave. And mathematically speaking if the lights wave lenght gets longer its energy decreases. But we learn from intro physics that by the law of conservation of energy that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. So the question is: where does the redshifted photons energy go in that case? It cant be transferred in near emptiness. Is the law incomplete? Does it just apply locally?

A physicist already tried to explain to me but i couldn't understand it, he was too vague.

as noted in this reply that starting point would be up your ass. if you need third grade visual aids think of a circle and a straight line, unless you assign some arbitrary starting point the circle could be said to be infinite, without beginning or end. the straight line, no matter how long, would have at least one end, therefore not infinite. all too often the word infinite is used improperly.
