How do I become the sort of person who works really fucking hard and gets stuff done? I'm not even asking for a higher IQ, I'd basically run the world if I could work for more than a few hours without giving myself a BS excuse for stopping.

Thoughts on this "general engineering" degree at the Technical University of Denmark? I'll be moving to Denmark and this is the only course taught fully in English close to where I'll be living.
The first three semesters are general, then you're allowed to specialize in a specific area. Depending on which area you specialise, you can do a relevant Msc after.

Is studying anything related to computer science a waste of time compared to studying maths, unless I want to directly use it for practical purposes? Can I safely ignore formal CS?

>need to download .jar file for first assignment and set it up in the Java compiler path and get its functions

Is there anything more infuriating than this shit? I tried googling but found nothing that helped, even when I tried to put the file name in to the command line while compiling, like stack overflow talks about.

>get a university physics / engineering maths textbook with the first 5 chapters being barebones basic stuff (yet still being tricky at times)
>decide to only do odd numbered exercise questions but there's still a lot of stuff
>every single little topic in the book could be expanded in to applications or explored in a more theoretical way

I have come to two conclusions.

Some of the value of university courses isn't in their comprehensive nature but the fact that a qualified person takes you through a topic and gives you the confidence to IGNORE everything apart from the course's exercises and exams, and not feel like you have to dwell on it afterwards. Otherwise you are in a sea of knowledge with no end in sight.

Secondly, it really puts in to perspective the humanitards' "well read" ideal. You could spend your life on books called "Introduction to [important topic]" without repeating topics. Yet humanitards still think that reading a set of books, memorising some quotes, and not knowing more STEM than an 18 year old constitutes being well read.

Let's talk about how learning actually takes place. When I work on something for a while and then get bored with it, or maybe it's brain fog that causes me to think quickly and shallowly unless I put in more effort, what's going on? Am I an ADD internet addicted brainlet or is this normal?
