Okay, so, /sci/ I have a question for you delivered via ranting I guess.
So, my friend and I often get into small quarrels over scientific theories having to do with space, and this particular one has to do with the infinite universe theory.

According to his guess, there will never be a situation pertaining similar to your current life in any way. There will never be someone like you ever again in any of those other universe's.

Now, my guess was that he was correct and wrong, while he would be right for a large amount of those universe's, he was also wrong due to the fact if there were an infinite amount of universe's, there would be situation where you have completely different situations, but you're still you.

As in there could be exactly the same except you make one small decision that only affects something small like whether you get 5 dollars, or something huge like you get murdered, or become president in those other universe's.

Who do you think is right, /sci/?

I've had this idea about existence and the universe for a while, let me know if it makes any sense to anyone who actually knows anything.

My rationalization at the moment is that there are two fundamental universal truths, existence and non-existence.

Non-existence is simple, there is nothing.

Existence is more complex, it is pre-calculated by the universe to the point of infinity and time is non-linear. When the first conscious entity entered the universe, pre-calculated aspects were pulled from the memory of the universe to rationalize existence and hence all the fundamental physical laws appeared for that being to exist. Essentially the flow of time is an illusion of a projected universe that only the conscious can experience, in reality everything that exists, exists at the same moment, following every possibility of infinity. If that makes any sense.

is the universe finite or infinite? It has to be either one, but I believe both to be impossible. What does /sci/ think of in terms of the universe's continuity?

Light travels at 186,000 miles a SECOND.
If you believe we could ever travel that fast, you're seriously a fool.

If all matter is energy condensed to a slow vibration, what force is sustaining the vibration?

This isn't a spiritual/philosophical/whatever question, I'm actually looking for the answer.
(But am open to spiritual ideas on the subject as well)

I've been really interested in astronomy for quite some and I'm thinking about taking an Intro to Astronomy class in college. Problem is I'm not so sharp at math. Think this will be much of a problem in an Intro course?
