I'm an undergrad student that has manage to PI for my own project. I've been given access to a professors lab for my project. It's an SPM/bio physics lab that hasn't been used in a while. He's between grants, and likely won't be using it for another year or two and his last grad student finished last month. I have the lab all to myself. It's kinda messy with SPM tools and mechanisms strewn about, and I want to clean the place up and kinda dust it off. I honestly have no idea how I should proceed. The lab is equipped with a fume hood, full chemical supply stock, several anti vibration benches and workstations. His SPMs are all custom inventions and theres cables everywhere that I don't know the function of. It's also a semi stock room because theres old SPM and computer parts everywhere. As well as some biochem stuff in fridges I have no reason to touch. Anyone ever revitalized or revamped a lab before and have tips? I just wanna clean it up and make it nice and workable. Can send pics if want.
