Matsumura was pretty hard if I remember correctly. Maybe Eisenbud on the side for reference.

Why exactly? I remember the philosophy course in HS where we encountered his Convention T, and the book used "the cat is on the mat" as an example, and the picture had a cute fluffy cat. I wish journals had such imagery, as well. Hand drawn stuff.

Good morning, /mg/!

That's a "nothing", then.

Gotcha! I saw your update and two comments:
(1) those *-problems will be important when you get to the point where the author considers the groups of automorphisms.
(2) The her thing was about how you pronounce Herstein's name. I was maybe a bit unclear about that.
The offer still stands, so feel free to ask!

Have a productive day.

Didn't notice the link before posting. I'll give it a read, as it seems there's no sleeping to be done tonight.

Hyperbolic geometry. Why? Because you can draw nice hyperbolic tesselations after that! Not much for prerequisites either. Just a bit of topology, and enough group theory to know how the Möbius group would act on whichever model you are using for the hyperbolic plane.

It'll be a bildungsroman about a the life of a boy who dreamed to be a great mathematician, but life fucked him up since he was little, it'll show him going through many hardships until he reaches college then start failing again and falls into depression. There's more but I stop here, one day y'all might be able to read it who knows.

I see, guess I'll just focus on college math then, and read something like 'Problem Solving Strategies' by Engels in my free time, it looks like a good book to start tackling IMO-level problems.

Yo, I've started studying algebra and the professor is using a book called 'Algebra - Lang', on the cover it says it's a graduate book, so is the professor actually crazy or is the book easy and good for a first exposition to Algebra?
