Brainlet here (I don't frequent this board).
So i'm reading book about string theory (Brian Greene's Elegant universe) which was written about 20 years ago.
He's very keen on string theory and that something called supersymmetry is true. Now, from what I understood existence of Higgs boson explains why there is no symmetry in elementary particles, it explains breaking of symmetry and explains mass. So no need for (super)symmetry.
What I also understood is that Standard Model does not include gravity.

What I'm now interested is gravity still geometry of space-time or quantum mechanics can explain differently? Is string theory dead? What is most up-to-date most accepted theory in quantum physics? Any idea on what comes after Standard Model (if I understood it's very good but it's by definition incomplete)?

Can someone recommend an upper level book on complex geometry from an analytic perspective?

I'm looking for something that contains full proofs for big theorems like the Kodaira Embedding Theorem, Calabi Conjecture, etc.

Who are the string theorists/creationists of chemistry?

Biology and physics both have wackos that either deny a major biological theory or propose an untestable physical theory.

The closest thing I can think of in chemistry is alchemy but nobody really believes in alchemy any more.
