That's not what they think. As much as I agree with you (or at least want to) there's absolutely no way I can think of trying to reassure them they'll be fine without being labeled as an apologist or whatever the fuck. They're going to tear themselves apart with fear before trump even gets into office. They just refuse to even debate the issue, to them half the country is now their enemies.
