Let's look at Mars. Mars has a yellow-ish sky during the day. The air is thin and the dust particles are relatively large (with respect to wavelength of visible light). They absorb blue light, giving Mars a yellowish colored sky. If it weren't for those particles, Rayleigh's scattering would be in effect still and it would be blue like our's (a bit darker because the atmosphere is thinner).
