Dear fellow omni/sci/entists,
In this thread we foster an everlasting general for precious charts; to siphon our knowledge, and assimilate our sensibilities to the utterly confused.

How do you guys go about self studying a textbook. Is there a goal you set for how much you get done a day? Like a chapter a day etc. How many textboooks/subjects do you take on at once? Im trying to self learn in my free time between classes but i just dont know how to pace myself.

When working through a textbook, do you guys do every exercise or just enough until you feel you the concept?

I am in 11th grade and I am looking to go the science route. Apart from the textbooks of school curriculum, what are some essential books that I should read to deepen my understanding and knowledge of Maths and Physics? I am looking for books that may complement what I learn at school or books that every STEM student interested in Maths and Physics should have read before getting into University. I like to challenge myself but I don't see any point in doing highly advanced concepts when I have holes in relatively basic concepts. Anything within the understanding of a 12th grade graduate I can handle.

I need you guys to filter out the popsci books which don't actually teach anything and are slightly science fiction. As a start, should I read a Brief History of Time? It seems to be pretty 'essential'. Help a brainlet out /sci/.

Say I'm a brainlet that managed to forget most of algebra 2, and I'm trying to improve my math ACT scores.

Is pic related a good idea?

I'm 40 pages in first book and wondering if this is the most efficient way for me to prepare by June 10. I have a lot of time and I'm an effective reader.

My math skills are lacking (as in forgot most of algebra 2 lacking)
Is pic related a good idea? Already 40 pages in first book, wondering if it's worth my time. My goal is to be prepared for ACT math by June 10.
