I think that the problem is you have to be intrapersonal learner because the more opinions that come flying out just add more and more complexity to a problem that will continually evolve and develop over time. So the difficulty in tackling such an issue is identifying behavioral patterns asap and really understanding how these behavioral patterns are manifesting in complex life events. Most psychologists I'd assume they deal with pretty simpleminded people who will a lot of the time just feel bad without really knowing why they feel bad (unconscious) and they won't really know what to do with them, but then they meet a patient who isn't simpleminded and they provide good pathology and so it's far far easier to get to the root of their problems. I think the most complex patients are the one's that seem to be simultaneously simple-minded and complex, i.e your autist. That's just my hot take, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was off by a lot.
