Which microorganisms would you genetically modify to help us colonize/terraform Mars? What changes would you make to them?

D. radiodurans terrestrial?
They can survive conditions that don't exist on Earth, including the vacuum of space. Maybe they evolved their extreme survivability VERY early on (when conditions were all fucked up), but then why are they so unique, and aerobic?
Opinions?
