There wasn't really such a thing as ethics in science untill the late 70s (even though most people probably thought there were).
I mean they really didn't give a shit about the people they were experimenting on, who they were supposed to be helping; mostly people detainted against their will after presenting with mild depression, or even worse because they were a girl who thought for herself and didn't conform to societal norms.

Not the quoted poster, but I remember reading once that adhd and schizo can drag an iq down by up to 20 points, although i haven't been able to find the source again.

I took the WISC as a kid and got a Verbal IQ > Performance IQ gap of 30 points!
Although i don't have adhd myself, this sort of viq>piq gap is said to be an indication of adhd, and my average PIQ did drag my overall iq down quite a bit.

I pretend to myself that i have some adhd traits in a sub-clinical level which lend me creative benifits :D.
Either way, such a large gap completely destroys for me the validity of "g" or even "iq". I mean on one of the subtests i got all but one question right, on another i got every single one wrong. wtf?

Emotions are needed in decision making, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't constantly question our emotions.

There's a huge difference between rationalising preprogrammed emotions, and feeling emotions as a consequence of rational thought.
