That's such a cool thought, I never thought about it. People will obviously go in groups and bond with one another during the trips.

There's going to be so many little things that will create a distinct Martian culture over time, mostly to do with the unique problems they'll have to contend with. Like what if the 0.38g gravity is not enough for the fetus to develop properly? Humans could still solve it by, say, building large orbital ships with artificial gravity and maternity wards, where women would go for the duration of pregnancy. All children would then be born in the fucking sky and descend to the surface, you could have beautiful rituals based around it and everything.

Musk fucking gets it, unlike most people he actually operates in a framework that allows him to realistically imagine where it can all lead us, it's not some wishy-washy fantasy for him.
